![]() Once you import your photos into LrC, you can filter your photos in different ways / categories / hierarchies: Using the Library Filter you can see them by Date, by camera, and lots of other ways - irrespectively of where they are stored. But using folders to organise your photos forces you to put them in only one type of category (folder hierarchy) - unless, of course, you physically duplicate them. How files are stored on disk is, of course, is very important: Each file must ideally be stored in a well defined folder hierarchy that is easily and automatically expanded and backed-up.
